![]() ![]() I have a pull request ( ) that was able to get the save functionality working. The last remaining change that I could see to get affinity photo running was to convert MoveFileTransacted (and related file operations) implemented to the point to work when called. ![]() I was able to get it working with Vulkan on linux after making a few patches. I went through and debugged and submitted some patches to wine to address Affinity Photo working under wine. Which is not implemented in wine (bottles, proton are all projects built on top of wine). With the Version 2 app bundle I think it's a no brainer to get the whole lot.The save functionality uses the function ` MoveFileTransactedA` in kernel32. Even if you keep everything in separate files and use it as an asset layout tool just like Indesign, the master pages alone will save you loads of time. I've used Indesign for years so Publisher was pretty much second nature to me but if you've never used anything like that I'd suggest giving it a try if you do anything involving multiple pages or versions (which sounds to me like it covers pretty much all graphic design). If you need to switch back you can do that as well. In Affinity it's much easier to start in Designer and then switch the same file to Publisher and just carry on adding pages with the different options. Eventually all these files get dropped into an Indesign presentation either for internal use or separating out the preferred options to show the client. so I can see all the versions in one place. ![]() I don't do that many brochures nowadays but If I'm doing anything like social media graphics or pretty much anything where you need to try out different versions of an idea then it's much easier to start in Designer to get the rough idea down and then switch to Publisher and just keep adding pages with iterations of the design.įor branding jobs when working on initial logo design ideas or whatever, in Adobe I would fill an illustrator page with rough ideas and different versions, then every different idea I would create a new file and carry on making minor changes etc. Obviously if you do brochures or multi page PDFs or anything like that it's the correct tool for the job. I've used Indesign probably more than Illustrator or Photoshop and now I'm switching to Affinity as much as possible I'll probably use Publisher more than Design or Photo. ![]() If you do anything that's multi page then Publisher is worth it.
