In a sense, Free Solo is both a celebration and a cautionary tale-exemplifying that single-minded focus and passion is not without its human costs-both in terms of the staggering amount of free solo climbers that have died throughout the years, but also in terms of a necessary distance that must be created and maintained between the individual climber and everyone around them.
